Ayurveda is not just for fixing health problems; it’s a way of living well. It cares about making your body and mind feel good inside and out. One cool thing it suggests is Panchakarma. This is a way of cleaning your body and making everything balanced again — it’s like hitting a reset button for your health. Panchakarma means ‘five actions’ or ‘five treatments’ in Sanskrit, and it’s all about getting rid of toxins and bringing back the balance in your body. It helps keep you pure and healthy for a long time.

Our bodies face a lot of challenges like pollution, sickness, and not-so-great food. The way we live, eat, and move has made our bodies a bit out of balance. Panchakarma is like a cleanup process for your body. It helps take away the bad stuff that shouldn’t be there, and it brings back the balance of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — three things that affect how our bodies work. It’s like hitting refresh for your health!

Ayurveda suggests using pure A2 ghee or Vedic ghee not only as a dietary supplement but also in Panchakarma. During this process, they mix herbal oils and give massages. And if they use hand-churned desi ghee, it can make the whole thing even better!

This is how you can make yourself feel better using ghee in the Panchakarma treatments:

  1. Vamana: Therapeutic vomiting, also known as a special treatment, is done to get rid of extra mucus in our body that causes problems like asthma, indigestion, and sinus issues. It’s suggested for people facing these problems. When you vomit on purpose, it gets rid of the extra mucus, making you breathe easier. After vomiting, you have some ghee, which coats your insides and helps with digestion. The ghee feels nice and soothing, calming down any discomfort from vomiting.
  2. Snehapanam: The first step in Panchakarma is to eat ghee, which helps make your body oily. Ghee is warm and oily and great for balancing Vata and Pitta in your body. It also helps your body absorb and digest nutrients better. The ghee works like a magnet, pulling toxins from deep inside your body, like your blood, bones, muscles, and marrow, and gathering them in your stomach to get rid of them. Panchakarma believes in balancing both inside and outside, so after eating ghee, they also put herbal oils on your body during a massage.
  3. Nyasa: In this treatment, softly rub the recommended herbs and special cow ghee inside your nostrils to remove extra mucus in your sinuses. It works well for people with a stuffy chest and sinus problems. The small amount of special ghee helps calm the inside of your nose, making your sinuses feel better, and its warmth helps clear away the congestion.
  4. Anuvaasan: In this part of Panchakarma, they use a special enema to clean out toxins from our body through the back passage. It’s like giving medicine through the bottom, using A2 ghee. This helps with problems like constipation, kidney stones, and backaches. Even though it might seem a bit uncomfortable, using ghee this way helps get rid of something called Vata dosha in our body. The special properties of pure desi ghee make your bowel movements smoother, naturally clean out your body, and are good for people with paralysis or diabetes.
  5. Virechana: This treatment focuses on cleaning out the lower part of your body, especially the small intestine, by giving you substances that make you go to the bathroom a lot. It helps get rid of bad stuff in your blood, kidneys, stomach, and liver and balances out things called doshas in your body. To make this process easier, you eat a spoonful of ghee in milk. Using special hand-churned desi ghee is known for making it easier to go to the bathroom, helping with digestion, and making everything inside your body work better.

In our busy and hectic lives, we all need a bit of calm and balance. Even though it’s not always possible to do Panchakarma, Ayurveda suggests something simple: eating ghee. Pure A2 ghee is like a superstar in our diet, keeping our bodies healthy, well-fed, and refreshed as much as possible.

If you want a fast break from your busy life, try using ghee in your massages and food. Amisaar’s special hand-churned pure A2 ghee can help you with a sudden detox that you won’t regret. You can buy a jar of Amisaar a2 cow ghee from our Swiggy Mini store!
